Earlier this week, we talked about the importance of spring-cleaning your diet and your eating habits. Sometimes, even the most health-minded of us can pick up dietary routines or cravings for certain “healthy foods” that are anything but healthy. If you want to jumpstart your dietary spring clean, try this one-day reset. Each nourishing smoothie will leave you feeling refreshed and full of vitality while boosting your immune system and jump-starting your body’s natural detox process.

BREAKFAST: Warm, Fruity Elderflower Smoothie

Smoothies are typically served cold, but this warm elixir reinvents your breakfast beverage with a hot take on the classic smoothie. It’s perfect for cold winter or spring mornings, is bursting with immunity-boosting antioxidants from pomegranates and is a great addition to your morning eggs or avocado. A single 1-cup serving gets you a third of your daily vitamin C, for instance, plus two compounds that have been shown as incredibly significant to your immune system: Punicalagins and punicic acid. These disease-fighting, immune system-building antioxidants may actually be 300% more powerful than the antioxidants found in other superfoods and superdrinks, such as green tea.

Plus, the Jasmine tea adds a gentle touch of energizing caffeine to get your morning going.

Seeds from one pomegranate
1/2 tbsp elderflower cordial
1 apple, cored
1 1/2 cup of hot, organic Jasmine tea tea

Pour all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!

LUNCH: Salad-in-a-Cup Lunch Smoothie

Perfect for at home or on-the-go, all of these flavorful reset smoothies are essentially a salad in a glass. And this one goes above and beyond, providing several servings of vegetables, plus gut-boosting apple cider vinegar. A single glass nets you more than a full day’s worth of vitamin C and vitamin A, plus lots of inflammation-soothing polyphenols and cell-protecting flavonoids for long-term health and wellness.

1 c ice cubes
2 c lettuce
1 c spinach
1 c kale
1/2 whole avocado, pitted and scooped from the avocado peel
1/2 cucumber
1 apple, cored
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 c milk or dairy-free milk of your choice

Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!

DINNER: Protein-Rich Evening Shake

The better your gut health, the better your immune system health! The live cultures in yogurt and other fermented foods don’t just support your gut health, but they also may help to stimulate your immunity and ward off numerous illnesses. Plus, yogurt is rich in protein, so this smoothie is perfect for an evening reset as it nourishes your digestive system and also keeps you feeling full and satisfied.

1 frozen ripe banana
1 cup unsweetened organic Greek yogurt
1/4 cup pineapple juice or tropical fruit juice of your choice
1 c frozen strawberries

Add all the ingredients and blend until creamy. Enjoy!
